Jason Toro is a Northeastern University graduate, where he pursued a career in English and Game Design. At the University, he furthered his childhood passion for Dungeons & Dragons and video games – from Pokémon to Borderlands – and the storytelling that each game had to offer. He is infinitely interested in how interactive media affects its audience, as well as how the audience and media work together to tell a story.
That passion is currently coalescing into a career in video game journalism, where he has written over 2,000 articles over several websites concerning video game and board game news and guides. While he has yet to make his own game professionally, it remains a hobby that he pursues with fleeting ideas and impassioned playtests. He’s designed about a half-dozen tabletop and board games that will likely never see the light of day.
Background
Jason is from the east coast of the United States, near Boston, Massachusetts. He’s lived there all of his life and doesn’t plan on really leaving anytime soon. He adores the Eastern ocean and has many fond memories of traveling to the Carolinas to visit family friends. His favorite place in Boston is the Aquarium, though he can’t visit it often.
In The Media
In addition to writing for Nerds and Scoundrels, Jason is also a contributor for The Punished Backlog and Dot Esports. You can also check out his interesting look at games like Grand Theft Auto and their questionable reflection of men and women on Medium.

Fun Facts About Jason
As a child, Jason was adept at random video game trivia, including the ability to name every Pokémon from generations 1 to 6. He also became self-published during high school, though under a pseudonym and with a book so embarrassing he has since un-published it.
