The Top 10 Best Stewards in Skyrim | Skyrim Steward Rankings
When you are not experiencing the hardships that typically comes with the life of a Dragonborn in Skyrim, you can develop a relaxing home life for yourself and a potential companion. But as a Dragonborn, you will not be in your residence that often because you have enemies to slay. That sounds like the perfect reason to hire a Steward! A Steward can help protect your home, feed your livestock, make improvements, and furnish a room for the same set price across all available Stewards. You could even own multiple homes with a different Steward for each! Stay tuned for our Skyrim Best Steward Top 10!
The Skyrim Steward Top 10
But who should you hire? That is where I come in! Here is my Skyrim Best Steward Top 10.
10. Adelaisa Vendicci
- Max Level: 25
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Nonaggression
Adelaisa becomes a follower candidate once you help the East Empire Company defeat the Blood Horkers pirate gang. She is a strong fighter, which will come in handy when it comes time to defend the home that she is taking care of. Beyond that, she has no additional benefits.
9. Talvas Fathryon (available in the Dragonborn add-on)
- Max Level: 25
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
You first run into Talvas during the “From the Ashes” quest as he is summoning an Ash Guardian… Unsuccessfully. The Ash Guardian starts running amok, and you will have to put the creature down before it destroys the town. Once you destroy the creature, Talvas shows his gratitude towards you by presenting you with a staff, offering to follow you and to train you in the art of Conjure Ash Guardian… the same creature that nearly destroyed the town. And did I mention that he is a master summoner? Despite his little accident that you witnessed seconds before becoming acquaintances, Talvas can properly train you in summoning and he is a merchant in his home town. It might be better to leave Talvas put, but if you are in a pinch for a Steward, Talvas can fill in for the job.
8. Golldir
- Max Level: 30
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Nonaggression
Golldir is a Nord Warrior that offers to become one of your followers after you stop a necromancer from defiling the graves of his ancestors. He is proficient with one-handed weapons and heavy army, but beyond that, Golldir is a simple warrior, but he is one of our favorite Skyrim best steward options.
7. Ogol
- Max Level: 30
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
Once you have completed “The Cursed Tribe” mission, Ogol (an Orc Warrior) will start showing you some respect, dropping the overprotective remarks that you are used to seeing from him. Despite the fact that he previously believed that his tribe did not need your help, Ogol possesses a very limited inventory – basic human clothes, a removable steel war axe (sadly, not on our Top 10 list of the Best Skyrim Two-Handed Weapons), and a hidden hunting bow with iron arrows. You can easily get him a weapon upgrades though because his sturdy 100 Stamina will come in great use while he is defending your home.
6. Lob
- Max Level: 30
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
Lob is an Orchish Ranger that has blacksmith training and regularly tends to the livestock in his home of Largashbur; all three skills will be very useful when it comes to protecting your home. He does not possess much in the line of Magicka, but his steadily increasing Stamina is solid. He can become a follower after you lift the Curse of Malacath from Largashbur.
5. Faendal
- Max Level: 30
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
Faendal is a thief that will offer to become a follower after completing the “A Lovely Letter” quest in his favor. This love-torn Bosmer has the ability to teach you several common tricks with the bow, as he is a Common Trainer in Archery. His stats are on the low end, but he is a hard worker according to his boss Gerdur.
4. Eola
- Max Level: 30
- Moral: Will commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
Eola is a Breton Nightblade that can become a follower after you clear out the Reachcliff Cave and become the Champion of Namira… A clan of cannibals. I know my stomach is turning a little, but Eola is a skilled mage that can cast spells in Alteration, Destruction, Conjuration, and Restoration, and that alone will make her a solid Steward for one of your homes. Just skip the dinner plate.
3. Annekke Crag-Jumper
- Max Level: 30
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
Annekke is a retired explorer who is living the rest of her life by her husband, Vernon Rock-Chucker. She becomes available as a follower once you kill the bandit leader as she now has the itch to travel again. As a Nordic Ranger, she is proficient with ranged weapons. Oh, and you can possibly marry her daughter too! Keep everything in the family!
2. Illia
- Max Level: 40
- Moral: Will not commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
Illia can become a follower after you stop her mother from transforming into a hagraven in the “Repentance” quest. She is also an Imperial Elemental Mage that favors Frost spells. Her Magicka and Health are higher than most of the available Stewards, which makes up for her lack of Stamina.
1. Erik the Slayer
- Max Level: 40
- Moral: Will commit crime
- Demeanor: Aggressive
And finally, the best Steward available in the game is enthusiastic Erik the Slayer; named after an impressive fan that died of cancer. His Health is one of the highest among all of the available Stewards in the game, and he is competent in several weapon proficiencies, making him one of the most versatile Stewards. He will be available to become a follower after you talk his father into letting Erik pursue his dream in the “Erik the Slayer” quest.
