All Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition Secret Missions

One of the fun parts of the Definitive Edition of Tales of Vesperia is the secret missions. You won’t always see them coming, but when you find them you’re in for a fun battle coming up. Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition Secret Missions Guide

Each secret mission stems from a fight with a certain villain. Most of the missions involve not only defeating the villain but also meeting additional criteria. Below, we list each mission with the villian named next to it. We also include the criteria to complete the mission and our tips for beating each one. Enjoy!

Secret Mission 1 (Zagi)

Defeat Zagi while protecting Estellise from Zagi’s attacks. Just defeat Zagi with an eye on soaking up damage instead of Estellise.

Secret Mission 2 (Goliath)

Downed Goliath by attacking its Achilles’ heel while it charges X buster. Use a multi-hit attack to defeat Goliath, or attack his glowing heel from behind.

Secret Mission 3 (Gattuso)

Use the Billybally plants to stun Gattuso. To stun Gattuso, attack the plants first. Hit him when his shields are down.

Secret Mission 4 (Zagi 2nd Fight)

Lured Zagi to the side of the ship and knocked him overboard. The easiest way to knock him overboard is to hang around the edge of the boat. When Zagi gets close, use Overlimit to knock him overboard.

Secret Mission 5 (Dreaded Giant)

Downed the Dreaded Giant when it reared back and left itself wide open. To defeat the giant, kite him until he stands up on his hind legs. Then, rush in and attack.

Secret Mission 6 (Gigalarva)

Raven used Serpent to set a trap for the Gigalarva and prevented it from healing itself. You will need to wait until Gigalarva is below 24K HP to trap him.

Secret Mission 7 (Barbos)

You took out the bridge supports, thus keeping Barbos from calling out more of his thugs.

Secret Mission 8 (Cursed Wanderer)

Downed the Wandering Skeleton while he is reloading his revolver. When the Cursed Wanderer uses Severed Fate, he will take some time to reload his gun. Stay on the defensive until he’s reloading, then attack. Trigger Tune A also requires a reload which you can take advantage of.

Secret Mission 9 (Zagi 3rd Fight)

Let Zagi absorb too much energy, destroying his bodhi blastia. Sit back and don’t attack, he will eventually absorb energy and explode.

Secret Mission 10 (Pteropus)

You defeated the Leader Bat and prevented Pteropus from recombining. Kill the Leader bat before the adds.

Secret Mission 11 (Outbreaker)

Destroyed the core and prevented magic from inverting day and night. Destroy the core, but it must be before you defeat Outbreaker.

Secret Mission 12 (Belius)

You lit up all the candlesticks and eliminated the illusions of Belius. Use Yuri’s Destruction Field arte to relight the four candles once the Belius double appears.

Secret Mission 13 (Nan & Tison)

Timed your strikes between Nan and Tison’s attacks to knock them down. These two enemies have a magical attack makes their weapons and arms stick to the ground. Wait until they use this attack, then strike them when they are stuck. You must down them both.

Secret Mission 14 (Schwann)

Downed Schwann by attacking when he was clutching his heart after his mystic arte. Schwann has powerful mystic arte, your primary goal is to avoid these. After his major attacks, Schwann will begin panting as he recovers. That’s when you strike.

Secret Mission 15 (Zagi 4th Fight)

Use Karol’s Nice Recovery Smash arte to force Zagi to recover from poison.

Secret Mission 16 (Baitojoh)

Hit Baitojoh 3 times during its Ice Edge attack and fight it out of the water. During Baitojoh’s Ice Edge attack, he fin will become visible. Attack the fin; if you hit it before the end of Ice Edge if will be hurled out of the water.

Secret Mission 17 (Estellise)

Use the item, Mother’s Momento, on Estellise.

Secret Mission 18 (Yeager)

Make Yeager’s heart explode by using Raven’s Rain arte. During the second half of the battle, Yeager will expose the hermes blastia in his heart. Guard break him, then have Raven use his Rain arte.

Secret Mission 19 (Alexei)

“Downed Alexei by attacking him when he was tired after his mystic arte.”

Secret Mission 20 (Cursed Wanderer 2)

Used the item, Maris Stella. (The Item is gotten in Zaude, in the area with the giganto monster)

Secret Mission 21 (Gusios)

Attacked Gusios’s tail then downed him while he stood on his hind legs. Attack the tail. Once it retracts, Gusios will stand on his hind legs. When he pounds his chest, attack him.

Secret Mission 22 (Khroma Dragon)

Downed Khroma by timing your strikes between a certain group of her attacks. Rush her when she uses her earthquake attack. Slash her after she slams the ground, when rocks are falling from the ceiling.

Secret Mission 23 (Flynn)

Allow Flynn to use every arte he could, including his mystic arte. Don’t attack until Flynn has used all of his artes. Then attack, which will force him to use his final healing arte.

Secret Mission 24 (Zagi 5th Fight)

“Downed Zagi by attacking him between his Blastia Bane.” Guard against Blastia Bane, then knock him down as he recovers.

Secret Mission 25 (Duke)

“Defeated Duke using a mystic arte.” 2nd Battle Only
