Which is where we’ve come in to make this list for you and make this experience as easy as possible. 2019 New Dell Inspiron 11 Chromebook
- Resolution – 11.6” 1366×768
- Memory – 4GB LPDDR3
- Processor – Intel Celeron N3060
- Graphics Card – Intel HD Graphics 400
- Weight – 3.09lbs
Next up is this 2019 Dell Chromebook which features a few little improvements over our last choice. First up though, the screen here is also an 11.6” 1366×768 display so no 1080p gaming here, unfortunately. The screen does mean that this Chromebook is going to remain small and manageable in size. The weight here is sitting at 3.09lbs which is still fairly light. Once again the build quality is strong and well made so we’re on good footing at the start.
The processor in this machine is an Intel Celeron N3060, a slightly more powerful CPU than the Intel Atom x5 Z8300 that should deliver better performance. The N3060 is another processor that was built more for the lower end of the PC market. This CPU was made specifically for notebooks and smaller laptops but it shouldn’t be an issue since it perfectly suits our needs. Its integrated graphics chip is also on the lower end, with the Intel HD 400 being made for light tasks and very light gaming in mind. So you won’t be doing anything that’s too intensive on this Chromebook so bear that in mind when looking at this choice.
The improvements here may be small but overall they add up to a machine that’s going to give you a better experience when used generally and especially when playing Roblox. The big positives here are the small size, its relatively lightweight and the Intel Celeron N3060 CPU. This isn’t for you if you’re looking for 1080p gaming or the power to perform more taxing tasks. If you want something with a little more power, take a look at our next pick.
Acer Chromebook 15
- Resolution – 15.6” 1920×1080
- Memory – 4GB LPDDR4
- Processor – Intel Celeron N3350
- Graphics Card – Integrated
- Weight – 5.6lbs
Our next choice is this Acer Chromebook 15, a machine designed more for use at home rather than on the move. This is due to both the size and the weight thanks to its bigger screen. This Chromebook is coming with a 15.6” 1920×1080 screen, which means that you can get a clean 1080p image. Especially great for Roblox as it’s going to really make those colorful graphics pop. As stated before, that’s going to make this Chromebook a little heavier at 5.6lbs so this might not be the best for taking with you on long commutes.
The CPU in this machine is an Intel Celeron N3350, another processor designed for lower-end laptops but it’s still going to do just fine. It’s more powerful than the Intel Celeron N3060 which means it’s going to be able to perform some more difficult tasks. But again this isn’t designed to be one to one with a CPU you’d find in a more expensive gaming laptop, so you won’t be playing very demanding games on it. It is, however, perfect for Roblox and light computing like word processing and web surfing. It’s also got a touchscreen and that’s always a plus!
So this is a great Chromebook and one that combines a lot of great aspects into one machine. The screen is fantastic and the extra power makes it a great Chromebook to use for the day to day. The shortcomings here are the weight, which makes the portability of it slightly more frustrating. As well as the RAM only being 4GB which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it would be nice to have more. In fact, our next choice might just solve that issue.
2019 ASUS Chromebook C425
- Resolution -14” 1920×1080
- Memory – 8GB LPDDR3
- Processor – Intel Core M3-8100Y
- Graphics Card – Integrated
- Weight – 2.9lbs
We’ve chosen the Asus Chromebook C425 as our next pick in this list for a bunch of reasons. Firstly we’ve got another 1920×1080 resolution display here, though it’s slightly smaller than our previous choice at 14”. What this does mean however, is that it is lighter as well, in fact it is very light. Weighing in at 2.9lbs, this is a great Chromebook that boasts a 1080p resolution as well as portability. Making this Chromebook the best of both worlds.
This Chromebook comes with the Intel Core M3-8100Y, a noticeable upgrade over the cheaper CPUs in this list. This quad-core processor is able to do more powerful tasks but this doesn’t mean that it will be able to perform difficult tasks. This is still a Chromebook after all. It does mean that anything you do on this machine is going to run a lot smoother, which is especially good for running something like Roblox. Another aspect of this Chromebook that helps is the 8GB of RAM. More than enough memory for most tasks that you’ll perform and should offer a very smooth experience.
This is another great choice if you’re looking for a Chromebook that can do 1080p gaming and be manageable on a trip. Other helpful bonuses include 64GB of hard drive space and that the monitor is capable of opening up to 180 degrees. Now, while this is a fantastic choice, it isn’t necessarily the absolute best you can get. For that, you’ll need to check out our last choice.

- Resolution – 15.6” 1920×1080
- Memory – 4GB LPDDR3
- Processor – Intel i3 8130U
- Graphics Card – Intel HD 620
- Weight – 5.6lbs
Our last choice is this HP 2020 Chromebook and we’ve chosen it for a few reasons. Once again we’ve got a 1920×1080 display at 15.6”. It’s got a big and crisp display which is really gonna make whatever you do on it pop. That and the screen itself is a touchscreen, handy for any games that you grab on the Google Play store that are ported from mobile. This is all housed within a metal frame that is going to add some weight to it, 5.6lbs to be exact. With that heft, you do get a sense that the Chromebook is well built and it should be able to take a beating.
The CPU in this machine is an Intel i3-8130U, a more powerful quad-core processor than the rest on this list. It should provide you with more than enough power to do most things (within reason). Along with this, the integrated graphics chip is also going to perform really well. The Intel UHD 620 chip is going to do great when trying to run Roblox and games with similar requirements. So all in all, you should be set in terms of power. Plus due to the excellent monitor, any game you get running on this Chromebook is going to look great too.
The only real downside here is the relatively low amount of RAM in comparison to our previous choice, sitting at 4GB. Now, this shouldn’t really pose any issue, the only things to look out for are moments of stuttering and freezing that could potentially occur when running very demanding programmes. But as long as you use it as a Chromebook should be used, it’ll be fine.
2020 Samsung 11.6″ Screen Chromebook
- Resolution – 11.6” 1366×768
- Memory – 4GB LPDDR3
- Processor – Intel Atom x5 Z8300
- Graphics Card – Integrated
- Weight – 2.9lbs
First up, we have this 2020 Samsung Chromebook that is perfect for taking with you on most trips and commutes. It’s nice and light at 2.9lbs and has a really solid feel to its build. If you’re looking for portability in your Chromebook this is a great place to start. The screen here is a 11.6” 1366×768 display which is fairly standard for laptops and netbooks like this but if you want full 1080p gaming then this isn’t the one for you.
Taking a look inside we’re starting with its processor, it comes with an Intel Atom x5 Z8300, a quad-core processor that is made specifically with tablets in mind. So, obviously you aren’t getting the power of a more expensive gaming laptop here. But you aren’t going to need that either because you won’t be doing many taxing tasks on a Chromebook that makes a more powerful processor necessary. It’s going to be great for things like word processing and lighter tasks, but anything that requires serious power just isn’t going to work out. But lucky for us, it suits our needs perfectly and shouldn’t have any problems running Roblox. The 4GB of RAM is also gonna be just fine and is going to give us plenty of memory to perform lighter tasks and to run Roblox.
This Chromebook is a great choice for those who crave portability and the essentials. While it misses out on some of the more powerful features that some of our other choices have on this list, it’s still got a lot going for it. But if you are craving more from your Chromebook, check out our next pick.
Buying Guide
Roblox System Requirements
Roblox was released all the way back in 2006, and even though it’s gotten a few updates since then it’s still fundamentally just as demanding on your machine. Which is to say, it isn’t. But still it’s handy to know exactly what you’re going to need when trying to run the game so below is a pretty basic list of system requirements.
- Chrome OS – version 53 or above
- Graphics card – A video card that isn’t older than 12 years
- Processor – Any processor with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz or better
- RAM – At least 1 GB
- Storage – At least 20 Mb
This list of requirements isn’t very specific and that’s because the game itself runs on almost anything. Thankfully Roblox has always been a very easy game to run on most modern machines and with a Chromebook the same applies.
How to Get Roblox on your Chromebook
There’s actually quite a few different methods to getting Roblox on to your actual Chromebook device. In the past, a lot of these methods were pretty sketchy and involved the player having to jump through a bunch of different hurdles to actually get the game. And in most instances, these performed pretty badly and weren’t really worth your time. But now life is a lot easier thanks to the developers making official channels you can now go through.
Simply the easiest way is to go to their official website and follow all of their steps. These steps are going to include making an account and downloading the Roblox Player that will allow you to play the game. From this website you can also download the Roblox Studio, which is the software that lets you make the maps and ‘games’ you’d find ingame.
What to look for in a Chromebook
If you’ve gotten this far and you still have no idea what Chromebook to get then here’s a few of the things to think about when looking around yourself.
Be sure you actually want a Chromebook
Chromebook’s are nothing like Windows or even macOS laptops. Since those were made for multitasking various different applications and are now suited to performing quite difficult tasks. Chromebooks were made for a handful of very simple utilities, including:
- Web surfing
- Word processing
- Watching videos
- Using very simple apps
Chromebooks only offer the bare essentials. While nowadays they’re becoming more and more powerful, they still have this simplicity in mind. So always think about that before settling on the choice of a Chromebook. As long as you know what you’re getting out of it, it’s going to treat you well.

With that said, it goes hand in hand with what we’re going to say next. Since Chromebooks don’t typically need to, well, ‘do’ too much they’ve been built with that in mind. So you aren’t going to be seeing the newest graphics cards, CPUs and huge amounts of RAM because simply they don’t need it. So if the specs of a Chromebook may look slightly disappointing in comparison to say, a gaming laptop, just remember that that’s the point. Chromebooks are designed to be lower-end machines that appeal to people who don’t want to deal with any unnecessary headaches.
Choose the Chromebook that suits your Lifestyle
On the move a lot? Maybe you’d benefit from a Chromebook that is going to be nice and light in your bag or easy to carry in hand. If you tend to work from home a lot and prefer to stay indoors then maybe the weight doesn’t matter as much. Either way, it’s important that you choose the Chromebook that’s going to fit into your life in an easy way. You don’t want it to make your life harder by being cumbersome.
