Owlbear Studios did a great job bringing many, many, many spells from the Pathfinder 1E tabletop system to the game. One of them, Divine Favor, might be a bit annoying to work with for many players. If you need help with Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Divine Favor, we can explain a few things for you!

Divine Favor in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Divine Favor is a spell for religious classes – Cleric, Oracle, and Shaman, for example – which empowers the caster specifically. Initially, it grants a +1 to attack and damage rolls to the caster. However, once you reach level 6, the bonus increases to +2, and to +3 at level 9. This bonus to damage rolls is specifically for weapons, though the attack bonus can apply for ranged spell attack rolls if wanted. These buffs last for 1 minute, no matter what level of caster you are.

Divine Favor is a great buff to allow for your brawling divine classes to keep up with Martials. By spending the action out of combat, you can rush in with a 5% bonus to attack rolls and extra damage. That’s pretty significant, especially early on! Luck bonuses are rare, so this will stack with almost every single other buff you can think of. Perfect for classes like the Inquisitor who otherwise struggle to reach those attack roll thresholds they love so dearly.

That being said, this isn’t the best buff in the game. Bless applies to your allies and lasts for significantly longer. Shield of Faith is arguably better as a defensive spell. But, since Bless and Divine Favor stack… Why not cast them both? Level 1 spells aren’t worth too much more than that.

Favor is a reasonable spell that you can grab if you want to brawl with your divine caster, which those classes are pretty good at.

We hope this helped you understand more about how this spell works in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Check out some more of our guides to learn more about this stellar series!
