Devil May Cry 5 Mission 1 Nero Walkthrough
Mission 1 starts roughly 1 month after the battle with the demon king. The mission opens on a bridge, where a large number of minor demons have blocked your path. Fight through them.
After you clear that bad guys, you get a short cut scene before the next wave shows up. The battle continues near the bridge, but this time the demons are bigger than before. Some of them are wielding giant knives. You must kill them on to continue with the mission. Once finished, head to the end of the shattered bridge.
You will get a short cut scene introducing a new demon, the Red Empusa. From here, you’ll need to drop down off the bridge and clear out the Empusa underneath the bridge.
After you kill the buglike demons, you’ll need to dodge the tentacles coming up through the ground after you. Now it’s time to both climb to the other side of the destroyed bridge and keep moving.
Blood-Slicked Vegetation
At the end of the bridge is a giant, blood-eating plant named Oliphoth Roots. Time to kill it!
Most of Olophoth Roots is fairly well armored, so you’ll need to strike it where it’s softest. Aim for the red “mouth” part of the fly trap at the base. Be aware of the tentacles as they try to kill you, but focus your damage on the weak spot. As the damage piles up, smaller demons will show up to try and get the jump on you. More tentacles seem to appear as you do more damage, but the best bet is to just attack as much as possible until you kill the thing. After it’s over, you get a nice little flashback about how Nero lost his arm as well as other backstory elements!
