You Should Get Branded in Baldur’s Gate 3
The brand that Priestess Gut wants to give you – the Mark of the Absolute – comes with few downsides. However, there are major benefits to getting this mark. Some of them are aesthetic, like giving you access to different endings in the game. Getting the mark will also alter your relationships, offering special dialogue options when you talk to NPCs.
The major benefit to getting the Mark of the Absolute is access to special magical items and objects. Throughout the game, you will encounter a number of items like the Gloves of Power. Anyone can use them, but doing so with curse that character with Bane. If you have the Mark of the Absolute, you can avoid this curse.
Keep in mind that only one character can get the brand. Once she brands your character, Gut won’t offer again. It is a good idea to take her up on her offer using your main character. Access to the magical items makes it worthwhile to get branded here.
As I mentioned above, the downsides are minor. Some characters – mainly Shadowheart – will disapprove of this decision. However, you can easily manage this disapproval moving forward.
