In this game, Spuds make up your fighting force. When you head off to conquer planets, you will bring five of them with you. It’s up to you to assign each spud with their designated class. The class will determine the Spud’s role and bonuses in combat. Once you assign your classes, you can either throw your spud into combat and place them on the elevator to let them support your cannonfodder NPCs, known as Goonbots.
Pilots
Born to fly, the pilot is an expert aviator that is ready to drop damage your foes from the sky. Pilots are bonused in combat for using Planes, making them the best option for flying. Your pilot will fly the plane around the battlefield, looking for the best targets to drop cluster bombs on.
Wildcard
The most unusual of all Spuds, the Wildcard looks like a total creep. These Spuds do tremendous damage by using their built-in flamethrower, which has a large damage radius. You can tell a Wilcard is about to fire when they pull their helmet down. Once on field, a Wildcard will chase the nearest target.
Heavy
The Heavy Spud has a giant built in cannon, and he’s not afraid to use it. The Heavy will deal the most damage of any Spud, but it also has some of the weakest health. For the Heavy, guns are its tank! The Heavy Spud will open fire on enemies with guns and rocket launchers as soon as it hits the field.
Defender
The Defender class is your tank. They exist to soak up as much damage as possible, and lumber slowly around the field behind their ballistic shields and helmets. These Spuds are easily the toughest to kill of any class. The Defender has a unique attack, known as the shield smash. The Defender also has an innate ability to draw hostiles to it when it deploys its shield. All enemies within range of the Defender have no choice but to abandon their current target and attack the Defender.
Driver
Drivers are the ground equivalent of pilots. Where pilots are bonused for planes, Drivers excel behind the wheel of a tank. Drivers will navigate around the battlefield on their own, firing at groups of enemies with their tank gun.
