Stardew Valley Honey Guide | How to Make Honey with Flowers and Bees

Stardew Valley is a farming simulation game where you play a character, in a desperate attempt to get away from the busy city life, who is taking over his deceased grandfather’s run-down farm located in Stardew Valley. You manage your character’s time and energy by clearing the land, raising animals, and harvesting crops… Speaking of which, did you know that you can buy and sell honey in the Stardew Valley? It is a lucrative crop that grows every four days as long as everything is set upright.

First, you will need to set up a Bee House. You obtain the Bee House after you have donated the Fall Crops Bundle to the Junimos inside of the Community Center. The Fall Crops Bundle will contain the following items:

  • Corn
  • Eggplant
  • Pumpkin
  • Yarn

Once you have obtained the Bee House, you will now have to place it outside. And voila! You will have delicious Wild Honey in four days. But wait! There is MORE to Honey production! The value of the Honey changes based on the type of blooming flower that is growing near the Bee House.

If there are no flowers growing within a five horizontal tile by four vertical tile distance from the Bee House, you will have regular grade Wild Honey; the cheapest of the bunch. If you reference the following list, you will obtain a much more valuable flavor of Wild Honey.

  • Tulip – grows in the spring – 160g
  • Blue Jazz – grows in the Spring – 200g
  • Summer Spangle – grows in the Summer – 280g
  • Poppy – grows in the Summer – 380g
  • Fairy Rose – grows in the Fall – 680g

Keep in mind, specific flowers will grow in specific seasons. And flowers do not grow during the wintertime. The flower also has to be growing in the ground; which means it cannot be in a flower pot. If the flower is harvested before the honey is complete, you will have plain Wild Honey. And finally, you will need to keep the Bee House away from the Villager’s Path, or the villagers will trample all over your delicious Honey.
