Death Stranding DOOMS Guide
The character’s in Death Stranding (Hideo Kojima’s first game since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain) have supernatural abilities called DOOMS that they use to interact with The Beach and Beached Things. These abilities unlock at a certain level for each character. For example, Sam’s DOOM ability unlocks at level two, while Fragile’s DOOM ability unlocks much later. The DOOM abilities are also tied into the birth date that you submit when you first start the game. After submitting your birthday, if the date you submitted qualifies for a DOOM boost, the game will give you a message that reads:

“Higher levels of DOOMS abilities have been observed in those born under the constellations such as Cancer, Pisces, Cetus, Delphinus, and Gigas.”
While no one has figured out the exact dates that you need to acquire these higher levels of DOOMS, the list below is our current best guess at figuring out this information.
- Cancer: June 21 – July 23
- Pisces: February 19 – March 20
- Cetus: November 22 – December 22
- Delphinus: August 22 – September 22
- Gigas: November – February
I would not put too much stock into this information yet, as no one has confirmed what the exact differences are between having a birthday that falls under these dates and a birthday that does not qualify for a boosted DOOM. Kojima’s birthday is August 24th; a date that is not on our list for upgraded DOOMS. So I think it is safe to assume that this might be something that will affect the game in a patch.
