The Long Dark Memories Walkthrough (Episode 1 Chapter 1)

The Long Dark Memories Walkthrough
When the episode starts, your first task will be to immediately light a fire in the stove. You’ll need a few items:
- Fuel
- Tinder
- Matches
You can find all of these items in Will’s Office.

Once the fire is lit, you will then need to explore the hanger. There are eight different things that you can interact with in the hanger; you will need to do at least five of them to continue the story. The list of potential interactions include:
- floatplane
- Will’s parka
- sink in the bathroom
- hot plate
- poster in the hanger
- map in Will’s office
- picture on the wall in Will’s “bedroom”
- framed picture in Will’s office
Once you explore the hanger, Will is going to need a nap. You only need to sleep in Will’s bed; his room connected to the hanger. You can see the door to the room below.
Suddenly, the phone will ring. Answer the phone by interacting with the telephone in Will’s office. This will bring about the next cutscene.
Next, there are two more options you can do. The first is to load Astrid’s things into the plane. To do so, simply pick up the locked hardcase and backpack by the plane and load them into the plane.
Optional Quest: Extra Cargo
Once you load Astrid’s things into the plane, you’ll notice you have some free space. You aren’t required to load anything in it, but there are three optional items you can bring along. They include:
- A first aid kit
- A distress pistol
- Emergency food
Each item is 5 kg, which is the exact amount of space you have in the plane. In other words, you will need to pick one of the three to bring with you. If you are prone to ankle sprains or food poisoning, the first aid kit is helpful. The distress pistol excels in chasing off bears and wolves. And the food is, well, food. Or, leave it all behind and embrace the challenge.
