Ace Combat 7 – High-G Turns and Clouds Guide
Two interesting and somewhat related issues in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown are good examples of how external forces can require you to alter the way you fly. Clouds present their own set of unique challenges, and highly-maneuverable unmanned drones require the use of advanced skills like High-G turns. Nerds and Scoundrels can help you with both topics.

High-G Turns
A High-G turn is an advanced maneuver. It is a useful tool for executing turns that are much tighter than normal. To execute a High-G turn, press down both triggers and push the left stick in the direction you want to turn.
There are pros and cons of executing a High-G turn. They are useful during dogfights when quick turns are crucial for getting a clean shot on a hostile. The issue is that High-G turns rapidly drop your speed. If you stay in a High-G turn for too long your plane will stall out. This can ultimately lead to a crash if you aren’t careful. However, you will be formidable in every dogfight once you master this tactic.
Clouds
Clouds have always been a part of the Ace Combat series. New to Ace Combat 7 is the fact that some clouds actually affect your plane. Volumetric clouds have very specific gameplay implications. They are good for cover, which lets you dodge incoming fire. But the moisture in these clouds can reduce your visibility. Fly in the clouds for long enough and the moisture on your plane will freeze. This ice will greatly limit your ability to fly.
Finally, clouds reduce the effectiveness of missile system tracking and effectiveness. In some cases, your plane can even be struck by lighting which will affect your HUD for a period of time.
