Baldur’s Gate 3: Can You Make Your Own Party?

If Baldur’s Gate 3 is anything, it’s customizable. You can build your character in a variety of ways with plenty of clothing options – including no clothing at all. You also have options when it comes to your builds. But can you create a custom party from scratch? Let’s dive into our Baldur’s Gate 3 Can You Make Your Own Party Guide.

Baldur's Gate 3 Can You Make Your Own Party

You Cannot Make a Party Full of Custom Characters

Baldur's Gate 3 Can You Make Your Own Party

Your main character in Baldur’s Gate 3 is highly customizable, but that is where the customization largely stops. Even though you can have a party of characters join your adventuring crew, you are limited to the options already available to you in the game. Want to play a Druid that turns into a bear and a Cleric that wishes she could? Well, you’ll need two different savers for that.

That said, Attack of the Fan Boy has an interesting take on making a custom party if you have three friends and the patience to put together a multiplayer game. The method is simple on paper, although it is certainly tedious in execution.

First, you’ll need three friends that can join your multiplayer game. (That’s a tall order if you’re anything like me!) Once you have three friends join with the characters you want them to add, you can have them leave the game. This will leave you with your custom party of four all to yourself.

You Can Build Your Ideal Party Using Your Character and Your Choice of NPCs

Not interested in trying to coordinate three other nerds? Well, you can still build a well-balanced and interesting party using your custom character and three of the NPCs that come with the game. Swapping out party members is simple, and you can tweak your makeup by sending some characters back to the campsite when you need a different look.

What is the Max Party Size for Baldur’s Gate 3?

Some fans of previous versions of the game are dismayed about the party size of Baldur’s Gate 3. Despite previous versions allowing parties of up to six characters, Larian has limited us to four party members for the time being. Throughout our test, we have not come across a way to increase the party member limit. However, you do get to select the four characters of your choosing.

Conclusion

That’s it for our Baldur’s Gate 3 Can You Make Your Own Party guide! Through the magic of multiplayer it is possible, but that option is probably too much for most people. Are you enjoying the game despite this limitation? If so, tell us about your experience in the comment section!
