How to Heal in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

There are two primary ways to heal in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Your characters will heal 1 HP per character level over the course of a full night’s rest, which is admittedly not much. Much more important is magical healing; classes like Cleric, Druid, and Shaman have spell slots, which they can spend on various healing magic. Some classes, like the Paladin, also come with class skills that allow for healing, such as Lay on Hands. Alternatively, you can use magical items like Wands and Potions to bring your health up.

One of the sad parts of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is your reliance on magical, class-based magic. If you want to consistently heal, you’re going to need magical or class-based healing. There are a ton of default classes that can heal. Below are a list of classes with a score of 1 to 5 based on how potent their healing is.

  • Alchemist (3)
  • Bard (3)
  • Cleric (5)
  • Druid (4)
  • Hunter (1)
  • Inquisitor (2)
  • Kineticist – Only with Healing Infusion (3)
  • Oracle (5)
  • Paladin (2)
  • Ranger (1)
  • Shaman (5)
  • Skald (2)
  • Warpriest (2)
  • Witch (4)

We highly recommend that you bring a Cleric to any mission you go on. If you do not want to take a Cleric, we still recommend bringing an Oracle or a Shaman, who can somewhat keep up with the party’s needs.

While you’re on the battlefield, these classes will typically have to use resources in order to heal. For instance, a Cleric may choose to cast Cure Light Wounds from the Spell menu. Alternatively, they may enter the Abilities menu and use Channel Positive Energy (to Heal) on the party.

During camp, you can select the option “Healing” to allow your party to spam healing spells and abilities. This will try to heal everyone to full before the caster sleeps for the night. If you don’t select this option, the spells and abilities will be wasted, and everyone will simply heal 1 HP per level.
