Solutions to the Shield Maze Puzzles in Wrath of the Righteous
The main shield maze puzzle in Wrath of the Righteous is the Rune Puzzle; a room with 4 different colored runes that you need to step on. There’s only one hint in the maze, and it’s on the entire other end of the dungeon. The paintings that you see are Yellow, Blue, Red, and Yellow. By pressing the runes in that same colored order, you can send someone through the gate to pick up the holy sword Radiance.
The sword Radiance is a powerful longsword, in that it automatically upgrades during your journey. Depending on your Lawful Good dialogue choices, you’ll build it up; +2, +4, and eventually +6, which is higher than magic items typically go! For a Paladin (or for Seelah), this is irreplaceable! You should make sure you pick it up for every single run!
Other than the puzzle, you can also find Wenduag, a potential companion. This Mongrelman fighter will require you to be relatively willing to hold an evil companion in your party. That being said, you may not want her this early. Lann can recruit Wenduag if you don’t choose to help her out with the Light of Heaven part of the quest.
