Hogwarts Legacy: How Evil Can You Be?
The Harry Potter series has always been about the battle between good and evil. In Hogwarts Legacy, you can do a little of both. You have the ability to learn dark magic, including all of the unforgivable curses. But how evil can you be, exactly? Let’s find out with our Hogwarts Legacy How Evil Can You Be Guide.
Can You Play an Evil Character in Hogwarts Legacy?
In Hogwarts Legacy, there is no morality system that measures how good or evil you are. There are also limits on who you can target with spells or deal damage to. Unlike games like Grand Theft Auto, you cannot kill random NPCs with reckless abandon. This includes your fellow students and the wizards living in small towns and hamlets nearby.
You Can Learn the Unforgivable Curses
The one area that will give you the biggest “dark wizard” vibes is the ability to cast the unforgivable curses. While you cannot cast these curses with reckless abandon on fellow students, you can use them against your enemies or even during duels. The three unforgivable curses include:
- Avada Kedavra
- Crucio
- Imperio
In addition to these spells, there is also a Dark Arts talent tree. These talents give you the ability to put a darker spin on some of the spells you already know. For example, you can curse your enemies, dealing additional damage to them through dark magic.
You Cannot Side with the Bad Guys
No amount of dark magic will let you switch sides in the main storyline. No matter evil you’d like to be, you cannot join Ranrok or fight against your allies. Certain characters are considered to be hostile regardless of your actions, and they will attack you no matter what side you’d like to be on.
That wraps up our guide to playing evil in Hogwarts Legacy. Will you turn to the dark side? Let us know in the comment section below.
