My son was murdered at the murex warehouse, his head smashed in like an egg!
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Purple Pain Walkthrough
The quest begins at the Murex Dying Facility on Kythera Island. Notably, this is around the same spot that you will usually find the thief in Left to Dye. Near the water, you will notice two men arguing loudly. The man with the quest marker over his head will be loudly accusing the other civilian of murdering his son.
When you approach the civilian, he tells you that his son was brutally murdered at the Murex warehouse. The other man swears he isn’t involved, and the father begs you to help find the real killer. The man the father is accusing claims he overheard Kythera’s leader loudly arguing with the victim shortly before the murder. The father isn’t buying it, and he asks you to go to the crime seen to see if you can come up with answers.
Murex Warehouse
To begin the investigation, head to the Murex Warehouse. The warehouse is only a few hundred meters away; in fact, you can see it from where you spoke with the victim’s father. Once you arrive at the warehouse, head inside. Just inside the door, you will discover an expensive bracelet. You will muse to no one in particular that this could be an attempt to frame Kythera’s leader.
In the center of the room, you find the crime scene. There isn’t a lot of blood on the floor. From the wounds and a limited amount of blood on the floor, you deduce that the murder weapon was a blunt object.
Head to the opposite side of the building from where you entered. Behind a stack of pillows, you will discover another clue. This time, it’s the murder weapon that you turn up. You find a heavy tablet caked in dried blood. You deduce this is the murder weapon and note it would take an act of great strength to kill with it. With these three clues, you have enough information to return to the father.
Return to the Victim’s Father
Head back to the dying facility and talk to the father. The man he has accused is still with him, cowering. When you mention the bloody bracelet, the accused man points to it as evidence that those were gifts for the leader’s daughter.
Ultimately, you will be asked to identify the killer from one of two choices: the accused man before you or Kythera’s leader. Ultimately, it is the large bloody tablet that gives you the final clue. The accused man in front of you is scrawny and weak, while the leader of Kythera boasts a powerful physique. In the end, only the leader is strong enough to lift that tablet.
Assassinate the Leader
After you clear the name of the accused man, the victim’s father asks you to cut down Kythera’s leader and avenge his son. If you agree, you will need to head to Kythera Town to take out the leader. Travel through the town and up to the top of the hill behind it. At the top of the hill, you will find the leader and his crew waiting at the Shrine of Aphrodite.
The leader has 5 or 6 heavily armed guards standing watch as he prays. They are not complete pushovers, and they are clumped together in a way that makes them hard to split off and kill. Your best bet is to rush in and try to blitz one or two before they are ready to fight back. While the lackeys are heavily armed, the leader is in light-fitting armor and a bow. He will always take the opportunity to run from you and snipe with errors. Once you corner him he goes down easy enough, though. Once the leader dies, the quest automatically completes so there’s no need to return to the father.
