Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon
The Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon can put out some serious damage. While the bonus to Assassin Damage seems an odd fit, the +15% bonus to Heavy Bladed weapons is a major DPS boost. While it’s not as powerful as the Minotaurs Labrys in general, it outshines it in certain situations. That is due to the unique bonus the Bludgeon gets: +25% Damage on Elites and Bosses. This monster of a weapon gets an enormous boost to damage in the big fights when you need it the most! All in all, a great weapon.
How to Unlock the Polyphemos Cyclops Bludgeon
To get the Bludgeon, you will need to complete the quest Stairway to Olympos. But not so fast! You will need to rescue the “God” Empedokles on Kythera Island. You will need to complete the quests A God Among Men and Left to Dye in order to begin Stairway to Olympos.
Stairway to Olympos Walkthrough
After you complete the quest Left to Dye, you will rejoin Empedokles on Pilgrim Hill in Kythera Island. To celebrate your past successes, he invites you to meet him at a special location on the Forgotten Isle. You will find the Forgotten Isle south of the Phokis region. Make your way to the Forgotten Isle and head to the top of the hill. There you will find the Cave of the Forgotten Isle.
Cave of the Forgotten Isle
Once you reach the entrance to the cave, you won’t have a difficult time finding Empedokles. Enter the came and head straight forward until you come upon a large pit. Dive off and land in the water. You will then swim through a short flood passage and enter a hallway where you will see your “deity” friend. Empedokles is at the blocked doorway of what looks to be a large room. There is ominous stomping sounds coming from the other side, but Empedokles is pumped to show you his fellow Gods he’s been promising to show you. To enter the room, use the disc you recovered in Left to Dye.
Cyclops Battle
As Empedokles enters the room, he is overcome with joy at returning to what he is certain is the Hall of the Gods. His celebration is cut short, however, as an enormous Cyclops smashes him with a single blow. The key to defeating the Cyclops is to stay at range. His attacks are incredibly powerful, but he can only deal damage when he is directly on you. The one caveat to that is when he begins jumping and stomping on the ground. Be prepared to dodge, as that will dislodge rocks from the ceiling on top you. He does have a relatively quick dash, but it is still easy to avoid. Fire damage is a strong tactic, as you can let the fire deal the damage while you focus on defense. Once he is dead, loot the body and cherish your new legendary Heavy Blade!
