Initiate the question by heading to Aphrodite’s Watch on Kythera. Find the Priestess that is harassing a Civilian near Aphrodite’s Watch. The civilian will explain that he is a follower of Empedokles, a god that has been captured by the priestesses of Aphrodite. Empedokles is a rich and powerful god apparently (although not powerful enough to avoid capture by these ladies.) If you will free Empedokles, the civilian assures you the rewards will be substantial. If you accept the quest, the Civilian will explain you need to head to the Murex Fort at Skandeia Bay. The Priestess accepts that you will be coming for them, and warns you:

Do as you will, Misthios. But even you cannot be everywhere at once.

If that’s not enough, when you ask the Civilian how to identify Empedokles he will imply that his god will be the naked guy with the giant dong. So this should be fun!

As soon as you end the conversation you’ll get the pop-up that an untracked target is nearby. The fort is only 150 meters or so north of where you begin. The defenses are light at the fort. Scale the south wall and follow the indicator to the cages near the center of the fort on the upper level. If you are careful, you will only encounter one guard just outside of the cages. However, freeing your target may cause more men to appear. Just make a break for it down the stairs and out the door, the guards won’t follow you.

Once you are in the clear, Empedokles will put off paying you your reward until he can thank you in front of an audience of his worshippers. He asks that you meet  him at the statute of himself to get your reward in front of an audience

Follow Empedokles to his Statue

When you get to the statue, the priestess is there arguing with Empedokles. She questions whether or not he is an actual god, and the two look to you to settle it. If you back up Empedokles the priestess will leave in a huff. Empedokles will then give you a new quest, 529 drachmae, and the Penitent’s Blade.
